In 2008, Deborah Klose was an art/communications teacher at a Philadelphia high school. She was making an elevator trip down from the fifth floor of the school when the elevator malfunctioned and stopped with the doors closed, trapping her inside.
-
Upon hearing that she might have to spend over an hour trapped within the tiny space inside the elevator, Deborah became frightened and claustrophobic.
-
She pried the doors open herself but, in doing-so, further injured her already broken wrist. The further damage would need three surgeries to repair and leave permanent injury. Debbie now lives with permanent numbness in her left hand and has difficulties with everyday tasks like opening jars or holding books. She also has lost significant skills in her former capacities as an artist, an art educator, and a volleyball coach.

Lee D. Rosenfeld and the team at Messa & Associates proved that Debbie’s injuries were the result of a failure to maintain good working order of the elevator, which, for two years, had been leaking pressurized fluid that was collected and re-run through the system.
Lee D. Rosenfeld and the Messa & Associates team of dedicated personal injury attorneys made sure that all responsible parties were held accountable for Debbie’s injuries.
